Misty, give this a try:

  1. Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. ##)Turn car to ON II(radio powers up)
  2. Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. ##)Turn radio off
  3. Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. ##)
  4. Hold 1 & 6 buttons on radio
  5. Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. ##)While still holding 1 & 6, turn radio on
  6. Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. ##)Write down the 8digit number that should display

Call your Honda dealer and give them those numbers. Or just follow the directions on here. Hope this helps, good luck.

2008 Honda Civic. Sticker with CODE is on the OUTSIDE left side of the opened glove box.

Aug 13, 2018 by pat_booth

OR, much easier...

Just go here: https://radiocodevault.com/honda/

They give you the unlock code all online via email, and no need to make an appointment at the dealership.

THIS WORKS-

ANSWER IF RADIO LOCKED. I have a Honda civic 2009, Radio was locked.

Hold down 1 & 6 then switch on radio. you will get a U - 4 digit code & L -4 digit code....write these 8 numbers down.

put these numbers into:

https://hondaradiocodes.com/ . ie: U1302 L2930

including the letters. it will return a 5 digit number....I put this Number into radio for unlock code. IT WORKED

There’s really 2 ways to do this if you don’t have the unlock code:

1) You can go to a dealer and pay around $75-$300 in “labor”. Or maybe if you’re lucky get someone to do it for free, but they almost always bill out at 30 minutes labor from what I’ve heard from others.

2) Use an independent radio unlocking service. A reputable one that some others have mentioned is https://radiocodevault.com/honda/ They just need your VIN #, and some other information.

Best of luck.

thank u, I saw this posted on a few different questions on this site, and this is the only place that actually ended up helping me to fix it. That radiocode site was great, they emailed me back my code real fast with extra instructions on how to clear all the errors. thank you again

You just need the serial number in order to obtain the unlock code for your radio.

Just press and hold the 1&6 buttons at the same time, while turning your radio on.

The serial number should then display. And then type it into the form at http://radiocodevault.com/honda/

You’ll receive the unlock code in your email.

Pretty simple stuff, and avoids a dealership trip.

Don’t make things more complex then they need to be.

Oh and sometimes it will say ERR, or ERR5, ERR7. You’ll just need to disconnect the car battery for 30-45 minutes and then try the serial number trick again, and it should then show the serial number. Then go to the radiocodevault site and enter it.

Don’t keep trying to guess different codes! It can lock it up forever… and then you are really screwed.

Here is what you need to do:

Step 1: Find the VIN# of your car.

Step 2: Follow the instructions on this site and enter your VIN#

Step 3: Receive the unlock code in your email

Enjoy

Thank you :) this is the easiest way and this worked perfect for me. I had entered code wrong 5 times before this and was nervous because I did not know how many more times I could enter wrong without getting locked out completely. Thank you again.

Well I had no sticker in the glove box, butI got lucky, I found a owners manual in the glove box and the previous owner had wrote the radio code down there...

Turn radio off.

Hold 1&6 button.

While the 1&6 are depressed, hit volume button.

This will show you radio SSN.

Write this number down.

Than visit this site.

https://radio-navicode.honda.com/

Where it says enter code, Try all of the codes this site gives.

The code will display alpha according to the acronym c-o-d-e.

Keep trying the given codes, one of them will work and your radio will turn on.

Don't let Honda Rob u of $400.

holding 1 & 6 and pressing the power button it shows me S/N no code...pls what do i do

May 16, 2017 by Arc. Samuel Esse

Thank you, worked perfect and my radio stations were still on there when I got the five NaviCodes to try!

Apr 15, 2018 by Kristina

As the person above said, it's in the glovebox. Mine was on the left hand side, small white sticker about 2" long, the top number (5 digits) is the radio code.

Worked perfectly 2-22-17!

Feb 22, 2017 by matthewmartin

This is the best and easiest answer, assuming you have a sticker inside the glove box with the code numbers.

This doesn’t work for people outside of the USA, I ended up using http://radiocodevault.com/ for unlocking my radio.
