It's Almost Impossible To Only Have One Slice Of This Spicy, Moist Bundt Cake! - Page 2 of 2 - Recipe Roost (1)

This cake is what dreams are made of. 4 eggs makes it dense and like a bread. The oil, makes it a little denser than a normal cake, too. Kosher salt keeps it from being too salty as well. Make this with whole wheat flour instead of all purpose for a bit of a healthier result.

Use granny smith apples for a tart taste to the cake. Other apples may be too sweet and ruin the texture of it. It seems like a lot of cinnamon, but it really is necessary. It makes it the perfect breakfast bread.

Ingredients

4 Eggland’s Best eggs

2 cups Domino granulated sugar

½ cup Wesson oil

½ cup Land O’ Lakes softened butter (room temperature)

1 teaspoon McCormick vanilla

1 teaspoon McCormick cinnamon

2 cups Gold Medal all purpose flour

4 teaspoons Camulet baking powder

½ teaspoon Morton kosher salt

4 cups peeled (or unpeeled) and grated or shredded, or chopped apples (granny smith, pink lady or honeycrisp work best)

4 teaspoons McCormick cinnamon

4 tablespoons Domino brown sugar

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a bundt pan.

Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together in a small bowl and set aside.

In a large bowl, beat eggs, butter, oil, vanilla and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.

Stir in flour mixture until well combined.

Stir in apples gently until combined.

In a separate small bowl, stir 4 teaspoons cinnamon and 4 tablespoons brown sugar together and set aside.

Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared bundt pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the cake batter and swirl through with a knife. Repeat with the remaining cake batter and brown sugar mixture.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes. Top will be golden brown and sides will pull away from the pan.

Allow to cool completely before turning out on a round cake plate. Slice and serve.

Is this a product page? Why all the brand names? The cake sounds delicious but I would trade out the oils for healthier ones and use non gmo products for all.

We just use the product names as suggestions of our fave brands. Feel free to use any brand that you like 🙂

I’d cut the sugar and use a Splenda sugar as well as 1/2 cup of non-sweetener brown sugar. I would also substitute apple sauce for oil or increase the butter. Nuts added would also m,ake it richer. Looks good though. Yum.

I love Apple Crisp and to have those flavors in a cake sounds like heaven! I’m anxious to try it.
