MELVILLE, William (Bill) Melville -
1947- 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill on June 23rd, 2024 at Lakeridge Bowmanville Hospital, after a 5 year hard fought battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Broughty Ferry, Scotland October 22nd, 1947, to John and May Melville. There he trained as a plumber before moving to Canada on April 1st, 1970. He worked in the petroleum industry for 49 years as a plumber and gas fitter.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife Elsie (nee Townsend) of over 50 years and loving daughter Teresa. He leaves behind his brother Allan (Ann) and sister Moira (Bill Caird) and their families, who remain in Scotland. He will be missed by many friends and family, both in Canada and in Scotland.

Bill loved spending time with friends and family at the trailer in the Kawarthas. He enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing, playing cards and spending evenings around the campfire. He was an avid supporter of the Dundee United Football club and enjoyed following them.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation (Cancer Care). Donate - General Donations (lhfoundation.ca)

CASWELL, Ronald W. Caswell - Born May 28, 1927, died peacefully in his sleep on June 21, 2024.

He was a man of many talents and varied career choices, from jobs in agriculture, to lens making, and eventually becoming a teacher and school principal.

He loved curling, theatre stage managing, woodworking and his favorite pastime, bugging his kids.

He is survived by his children Dave, Sheri, Pat their spouses Joann, John, Kathy, his siblings Anne and Bill, and their families, his grandchildren Meriah and Rose, their partners Derrick and Alex, great grandchildren Allaura and Mina.

He has gone to go dancing once again with his beloved wife Betty, and to reunite with his mom Lila & dad Willard, siblings Barry, Sally and Sybil.

Rest in peace dad, we miss you already.

Ushered into the presence of God on June 21, 2024, Denny is safely Home.

Loved beyond words by Mair, his soulmate and life partner for 66 years.

Dad to Garth and Bev, Melanie and Ross Eberlin, Poppa to Ryan, Jason (Melissa), Rachel Eberlin and Alyson (Roberto), Distefano and Daniel (Vanesa) Greaves.

Great Poppa to Robbie and Reina. Cherished by Shirley Greaves, Betty and Frank McKenney, Gen and Bud Greaves, Carol and Rob Neff, Tal Morgan, and Sian Wright. Favorite Uncle Denny to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Nancy Greaves and his “adopted sister”, Marion Gilchrist.

Born in Port Arthur, the most important aspects of his life were his family connections.

A man of faith, integrity and purpose. Denny spent his life in service to his workplace, his church and his community.

A journeyman printer, retail businessman, Gala Gift Shop owner in Elmvale, Dean of Residence at the Baptist Leadership Education Centre, Provincial Court Service Officer, a super gardener, bass singer, cook and baker, home decorator and cross-stitcher. Former member of the Fort William Male Choir, Board member of Men Alive, Barrie ISCF, Convention of Ontario Baptist Churches in Thunder Bay, Barrie and Whitby, Camp Kwasind Management Committee, Lynde Creek Resident Council, and the WOW Mall Walkers.

Predeceased by his parents Aune and Ed Greaves, Mary and Bill Greaves, Dr. Frank Kinsey, Gail Morgan, John Wright, Fin and Burt Sellick. Special thanks to Ross Carkner for friendship, wisdom and guidance.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Whitby Baptist Church on August 22, 2024. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by a Service at 2:00 pm.Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Thunder Bay.

GRAHAM, Archiue Graham -Passed peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering on June 19, with family by his side, at the age of 70.

Predeceased by his father Robert, and mother, Fern. Loving father to Melanie and Robert(Meghan).

Proud grandpa of Ariana, Ellie and Everly. Dearly remembered by his sister Vivian(the late Gene). Uncle to Jamie(Colleen) and Jason(Sarah), and great uncle to Shannon, Ryan and Makenzie.

Archie will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all of his extended family and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Archie's life will be held at a later date, and details will be published as soon as they are available.

SNYDER, Brian Snyder - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Arthur Snyder of Woodville, Ontario, in his 81st year after a short battle with cancer.

Brian passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2024 with his loving wife; Julie by his side.

Brian was born in St. Catharines, Ontario where he developed his love of sports and passion for hockey on the backyard rink.

A playmaker extraordinaire with the St. Catharines Junior B’s and later the local industrial league scoring leader. Survived by Julie, his wife of 31 years.

Predeceased by beloved son Scott. Survived by daughter Melissa, brother Wayne (Natalie), brother- in- law Scott Hudson, sister-in-law Karey Anne McClelland (Steve), brother-in-law Paul Brignall, and daughter-in-law Stacey Wainman (Scott Heelis).

Proudest achievement being Papa to his all-girls team Kayleigh Snyder, Mackinley Price, Amber Snyder, and Olivia Price. A special uncle to Ryan, Kyle, Michael, Cara, D.J, Krista and Will.

And great uncle to Noah, Ella, Emma, Bryce, Maddy, Lily and Sophie. A Certified Professional Accountant, Brian enjoyed a long successful career in the automotive dealership industry beginning with Bird Chev Olds in Welland, Ontario and then Ontario Motor Sales (OMS) in Oshawa.

Over an almost 40-year relationship with OMS, Brian left a legacy of mentorship, leadership and friendship with so many that he considered them his second family. Brian was an avid hockey fan and continued to play regularly into his early 70’s. Besides hockey his greatest pleasures were doting on his grandchildren and tending to his “gentlemen’s” farm and its long tree lined driveway.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held in Port Perry, Ontario at the Low and Low Funeral Chapel, on Saturday July 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following. The family looks forward to a gathering of friends for a luncheon and refreshments to share some memories and raise a glass to a special man.

Imelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend Mike. Cherished mother to Peter (Karen), Ron (Peggy), Dave (Yvonne) and Lynda (Martin). Beloved Nana to Sean (Karen), Erin (Chris), James (Michelle), Jeremy (Ashley), Katelyn (Brandon), Stacey (Bryan) and Christopher. Affectionately called GG by her 4 great grandchildren Brylee, Aubrey, Nathan and Thomas. Adoringly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and fabulous neighbours.

Love of family was a sustaining foundation of her life, mom loved visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, seeing them would light up her life.

After retiring from State Farm Insurance in 1996, Mom enjoyed her long walks, travelling, playing golf and Wine Wednesdays. Mom was known as a practical joker and quick wit throughout her life. Up until her very last days.

Imelda will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.

Imelda’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Douglas Crossing Retirement home for the amazing care and love they showed to our mother and family.

Cherished grandson of Monica Roberts & Al Crawford, Alex Petronijevic, Larry Shrigley and Diane & Ralph McCullough. Adored nephew of Vanessa and Brad Barker, Daniel Petronijevic, Andy Petronijevic and Ian Shrigley.

Dearest cousin to Rockston, Kyla, Barok, Camden, Jack, Bryce and Everlee. Forever missed by Mark and Shelly Jobb (Patrick and Nicholas), Mike and Andrea McCullough (Carter, Ciara, Cailin) Murray and Carolyn Wilson (Jordan, Mitchell, Kylie). All those who loved him are so sad to hear of this loss including his stepbrother Thomas and family, and all of his wonderful friends.

Our hearts are forever broken and a beautiful light has left our world. Marie was seven weeks shy of her 104th birthday.

Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Cronk and her grandson Ryan Watson. Survived by her children Terry (Carol), Carl (Cindy), Boyd (Bev), Brian and Brenda (Brian).

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Donald (Maggie), Waylon (Melanie), Melissa, James (Kari), Jonathan (Stephanie), Derek, Matthew (Robyn) and Dylan. Proud great-grandmother to Tyson, Storm, Tucker, Letti, Jordan, Mason, Ryder, Liam, and Aubrey.

Please join the family for a graveside service on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 2 P.M. at United Church Ramona Union Cemetery, 1974 Concession M-N Washago. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the Ramona Hall, 2212 Fairgrounds Road, Washago at 3 P.M.

Arnold in his 91st year was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years Velma, in 2021.

Dear father of the late Wanda Wyman and father-in-law of Dave.

Cherished and caring grandfather of Christopher and Joshua (Hailey) and great grandfather of Vera.
Survived by his sister Trudy Tully (Russ) and brother Walter (Beatrice).

Arnold came to Canada from Germany, on his own at the age of 17. After growing up and working in Shawville Quebec, Arnold met and married Velma. Velma and Arnold moved to Sudbury, where they lived for over 45 years and Arnold worked in the mines for 40years. In their later years they moved to Oshawa and lived close to their daughter “Wandy” and her family.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Port Perry Villa for their very special care and the team at Oak Ridges Hospice, in Port Perry for their comfort and compassion.

Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME in Oshawa, 124 King Street East. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 29th at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery Oshawa.

Mother of Corny (Darlene) and Ed (Mary). Oma will be sadly missed by Jonas (Theresa), Tyler (Annesa), Aidan (Jennie), Adam (Melissa) and Julie (Corey). Predeceased by her loving granddaughter Danielle.

Proud Great Oma to Kaleb, Braeden, Sierra, Lily, Alexandra, Ronan, Hugh, Benjamin, Chloe, and Allie.

Loving sister of Kit (Sjeng) and Leny. Sister-in law of Annie, Marie-Jose, Adrienne and the late Gerda, Kees, Marie, Jo, Jan and Ton. Born in Heerlen, Netherlands.

June immigrated to Canada in 1958 and made Whitby her home. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Joe's in Peterborough for their wonderful care of June.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 11:30 am until time of service in the chapel at 1:30 pm.

Enzo was close to his 96th birthday and lived at home until the end. He was born in Genova, Italy on November 24, 1928 and had a long, impactful career as a Builder in Ontario.

Everybody who knew Enzo will remember him as a cultured, witty and principled man with a funny observation ready at hand. Incredibly intelligent, forever curious and a rapacious reader it was hard to get anything past him.

Enzo joins his dear spouse Mimia and his beloved children Antonella (Michael) and Paolo (Leslie) who predeceased him.

He leaves behind his son Filippo (Melanie) as well as grandchildren: Marco, Luca, Kris, Emma, Mila and Juno and great-grandchildren Leia, Sage, Julia and Layla.

He will be interred at Union Cemetery in Oshawa.
